Kwheezy 1.4, a Debian-based operating system designed for general purpose desktop computing, has been released.

Kwheezy makes use of Debian 7.2 (Wheezy) and it's based on one of the latest KDE versions. The distribution is also a full-featured OS, with all the applications, plugins, fonts, and drivers that a user might need.

Highlights of Kwheezy 1.4:

• A fix for entering accents in LibreOffice (disable iBus by default) has been implemented; • Firefox and Thunderbird 24 ESR are now installed by default; • Cdrtools has replaceds wodim and genisoimage as the default Burning/ISO tools; • Kopete and Linphone have replaced Jitsi as the default XMPP chat and video calling application; • Kwheezy Autostart Chooser features new options; • KGet and Kopete are now "Always Visible" in the system tray by default.
