Plasma Media Center, a unified media experience on PCs, tablets, netbooks, TVs, and any other device capable of running KDE software, is now at version 1.2 Beta.

Canonical is not the only company that is striving to unify the user experience on multiple platforms, and the KDE developers are already working on it, but only for the media content.

The Plasma Media Center releases have been pouring over the last few months and a new version has arrived. According to the release notes, it's now easier to use All Music mode, automatic Artist and Album cover download has been added, folder previews for the Browse Pictures mode have been implemented, multiple Playlist support has been added, and a few others.

A complete list of changes and new features can be found in the official announcement. Download Plasma Media Center 1.2 Beta right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
