The KDE Project developers have just released the forth maintenance version of Applications and Platform 4.12, with numerous fixes and improvements.

This being the forth update for the KDE 4.12 branch, you can imagine that there is nothing too exciting going on, with the exception of some bug fixes.

“This release includes an updated Plasma Workspaces 4.11.8. Both releases contain only bugfixes and translation updates, providing a safe and pleasant update for everyone. More than 20 recorded bugfixes include improvements to Personal Information Management suite Kontact, Umbrello UML Modeller, touch typing application KTouch, web browser Konqueror, file manager Dolphin and others,” reads the official announcement.

The bugs that got fixes were nothing major, but users have been advised to upgrade as soon as possible. For example, it's now possible to copy an empty file from an FTP location to another FTP location, Ark is now handling passworded 7z files, an undefined character in ktouch has been fixed, and the recipient’s name is no longer turned into a lowercase.

More details about this build and the changes in the 4.12 branch can be found in the official announcement. Also, you can download the latest KDE Applications and Development Platform 4.12 sources right now from Softpedia.
