The Intel X.Org Driver package, an open source 2D graphics driver for the X Window System as implemented by X.org, has just reached version 2.21.14 and it has a few very important new features.

Chris Wilson has released yet another version of the xf86-video-intel drivers and, this time, the changes are quite significant, especially for the latest generation Intel processors.

Intel X.Org Driver 2.21.14 brings the much needed performance tuning for the Intel Haswell GT3 and GT3e systems by setting the correct thread counts for the larger GPU.

Other changes include a fix for a crash with Planetary Annihilation, a very interesting game that managed to get a lot of attention on Steam and Kickstarter, and the removal of triple buffering for compositors.

A complete list of changes and improvements can be found in the official announcement. Download Intel X.Org Driver 2.21.14 right now from Softpedia.
