Michael Tremer, a developer for the ipfire.org team, has announced that IPFire 2.13 Core 75, a new stable release of the popular Linux-based firewall distribution, is now available for download.

Unlike the previous version of IPFire, the current one comes with a smaller number of changes and improvements.

“Due to a change in OpenVPN 2.3, the common name of the certificate of the user that was connection was formatted in an other [sic] way than before. This led to that the certificate could not be properly validated because it was searched for one with a different name. This update ships a fixed version of the verify script that can work with both formats of the common name,” reads the official announcement.

Also, the OpenVPN connection configuration has been fixed and Pakfire is no longer locking up. A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement.

The developers recommend all users of IPFire to upgrade their distributions. Download IPFire 2.13 Core 75 right now from Softpedia.
