Google Chrome, a browser built on the WebKit layout engine that aims to be minimalistic and versatile at the same time, is now at version 28.0.1478.0 Dev.

The Dev channel has been missing for some time now, but the Google developers have decided to add a new Chrome version, 28, marking the start of another branch.

Highlights of Google Chrome 28.0.1478.0 Dev:

• A simple function called GetDefaultFavicon() has been added. The favicon is now retrieved in a way similar to the existing GetFolderIcon() function; • A new switch has been added to get the OpenGL emulation working again; • The cursor is now hidden when the lock animation is displayed; • Known regressions and stability issues have been corrected.

A complete list of bug fixes and changes can be found in the official changelog. Download Google Chrome 28.0.1478.0 Dev right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
