A new stable edition of Google Chrome has been released by Google, and it brings a number of important fixes for some security problems that haven't been detailed just yet.

Developers fix problems all the time with Google Chrome, and security issues are corrected in each update. Until most of the Google Chrome users get the latest update, the Google developers don't share details about what problems have been fixed or how the exploits could have been manipulated, which is the logical way of dealing with such issues.

"The stable channel has been updated to 42.0.2311.135 for Windows, Mac and Linux. Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on but haven't yet fixed," reads the announcement.

You can check the initial announcement for more details about this release. Also, you can download Google Chrome 42.0.2311.135 for Linux from Softpedia, or the Windows and Mac OS X versions from the same location. These are all binary versions, so installing them shouldn't be an issue if you have a system that can use DEB or RPB files.
