More and more users are deciding to adopt the Windows 8 look on their Linux machine, and the Windows 8 modern UI theme does exactly just that.

The developer of Windows 8 modern UI has already issued a few updates for this theme and it's moving towards a stable release.

Windows 8 modern UI has just hit version 0.3 and features a few changes and fixes. For example, a warning on gtk3 has been fixed and the menu for gtk2 has been corrected.

Unlike other themes, which are usually easily installed through a PPA or with the help of a simple deb file, the Windows 8 modern UI theme needs to be installed the old fashioned way.

For Ubuntu, you will have to extract the archive and move the folder in ~/usr/share/theme. In order to activate it, you will need to use GNOME Tweak tool or a similar application.

Keep in mind that this is a development version and you might encounter some problems.
