Tracker, a semantic data storage for desktop and mobile devices, which uses W3C standards for RDF ontologies and Nepomuk with SPARQL to query and update the data, has just reached version 0.17.1.

A new development Tracker branch has been launched, and as usual, there are quite a few changes and improvements.

Highlights of Tracker 0.17.1:

• Vala >= 0.18.0 is now required in order to avoid the Vala 0.16 g_dbus_message_get_body() binding bug; •gtkdocize is now used in autogen.sh differently to avoid "-chmod command not found"; • SQLite 3.8.1 has been added to the list of bad SQLite versions; • Nautilus is now longer causing CPU leaks; • SPARQL functions tracker:normalize() and tracker:unaccent() have been added.

A comprehensive list of changes and fixes can be found in the official announcement. Download Tracker 0.17.1 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
