The GNOME Project has announced that the first maintenance release for the GNOME 3.10 branch has arrived, with a small number of changes and improvements.

GNOME 3.10 introduces a number of important features such as Wayland support, a redesigned and better status area, header bars, a new software center, and much more.

“Here comes GNOME 3.10.1, the first update to GNOME 3.10, it includes many fixes, various improvements, and translation updates over 3.10.0, we hope you'll enjoy it.

“We won't end it here, we will soon publish the schedule for our next releases, and a first development release, 3.11.1, should also soon hit the streets” reads the official announcement from the GNOME project.

As expected, not all of the packages that make up GNOME have moved on to newer versions, but users should upgrade nonetheless.

You can download the GNOME 3.10.1 sources from the official website.
