Sports Interactive and SEGA have announced that their prized franchise Football Manager will arrive on Linux, starting with the 2014 edition.

The latest version released by Sports Interactive, Football Manager 2013, has been deemed as the most successful title in the history of the franchise.

“So the promised snippet of #FM14 news. As well as being on Mac & Windows, it will also be on Linux. With crossplay. One price for all 3 - so if you have a Macbook, Windows laptop and Linux desktop (for example) you'll be able to play the game on each of those machines via Steam,” stated the official announcement on Facebook.

There aren't any other additional details about this release and the launch date hasn't been revealed. The only piece of information made public is related to the supported Linux operating system, which is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (to no one's surprise).
