Users who like flat icons might want to give Flattr a try. It's probably the flattest theme you can find on the Linux platform and it's been recently updated.

Linux users can choose from hundreds, if not more, of icons for their operating systems. There is something for everyone. If you don't like flat icons, you will surely find something you can use, no matter how different your tastes are from everyone else's.

The last couple of updates for Flattr have made a real difference, so if you're a user, you might consider an update. "This version changes most of the theme, as everything is new different guidelines will be used. It has less application icons, yes, it's a new release and has a new size for those icons as well as a less 'dull' style," wrote the devs on Google+.

The latest update to the theme also brought better Xfce and Unity support, but there is a lot of room for improvement and many applications are not covered by this icon pack.

You can download the Flattr icon theme from GitHub and make sure you extract it to the appropriate .icons folder. You need to activate it with a third-party app, like Unity Tweak or GNOME Tweak.
