The GNOME developers behind the Nautilus project (now known as Files) have announced that version 3.8.1 is now available for download.

Nautilus may have changed its name to Files, but it will take a long time for users to get used to it. The first maintenance release of the 3.8.x branch has arrived, and it packs mostly fixes.

Highlights of Files (Nautilus) 3.8.1:

• A consistent name is now used for applications in the Open With context menu; • Symbolic links are no longer followed when the user is searching recursively; • The default sidebar width has been increased; • The view to default preferences can be reset; • The ranking order of search results is now done properly.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official changelog. Download Files 3.8.1 (formerly known as Nautilus) sources right now from Softpedia.
