Announced earlier today, September 18th, the Fedora 18 Alpha (Spherical Cow) Linux operating system has been officially released for testing.

Being powered by Linux kernel 3.6, the GNOME Edition of the Fedora 18 Alpha Live CD comes with the GNOME 3.5.5 desktop environment.

Fedora 18 Alpha is distributed as Live CDs with GNOME, KDE, Xfce, LXDE and SoaS desktop environments, as well as an installable DVD ISO image for both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.
