Dovecot 2.2.11, an open source IMAP and POP3 email server for Linux/UNIX-like systems, written primarily with security in mind, has been released and is now available for download.

Dovecot 2.2.11 comes with a very efficient authentication system and supports migrations from other IMAP and POP3 servers.

According to the release notes, an alternative global ACL file that can contain mailbox patterns has been added, a proxy_nopipelining passdb setting has been added as a workaround other IMAP servers' bugs, and %{auth_user}, %{auth_username} and %{auth_domain} variables have been implemented.

Also, LZ4 compression support has been added, wall clock time is now tacked for commands, the pop3_migration plugin has received a number of improvements, and SEARCH/SORT PARTIAL responses are now the right size
