Valve has released a Linux update for Dota 2 with a lot of new features and fixes

Dota 2, Valve's own take on the famous Dota mod for Warcraft 3, has just received a major update for all platforms.

The company has announced that Dota 2 for Linux and Mac OS X is now available for download, skipping the usual Beta versions.

Highlights of the latest Dota 2 update:

• The game no longer uses Adobe Flash to play videos, but HTML5 video tags; • Support has been added for querying Gnome Settings for the proxy settings on embedded webpages; • FoW interactions have been added on QoP and AM blink; • The Epicenter is now slowing the attack speed by 10.
