Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) is getting closer to the final release and the finishing touches are being put in place, which include the community wallpapers that have been chosen for this release.

Before the release of every Ubuntu version, a small contest is held in order to find the appropriate background that will go into the operating system, besides the wallpaper that is being designed by Canonical. The current selection is even more important because it's for an LTS version, which will be used for a much longer period.

The new community wallpapers have been uploaded to the repositories, along with the new one designed by Canonical, so when you get the new system update, you will find all the images available.

The people who organized the community contributions have also provided the images offline, if you want to use them in another operating system, and you can download them from here.

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) is expected to arrive on April 17. The hype surrounding the new Ubuntu release has been increasing in the past few weeks, and all for good reason. Canonical has made some very interesting changes and improvements, and everyone is waiting to see the final version.
