Canonical has announced that the Ubufox and Unity Firefox Extension has been updated for Ubuntu 13.04, Ubuntu 12.10, and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS operating systems.

According to Canonical, the Ubufox and Unity Firefox Extension update was necessary after the new Firefox 23 arrived in the official repositories.

The USN-1924-1 update fixed a number of vulnerabilities in Firefox and the corresponding changes have been brought to the Ubufox and Unity Firefox Extension.

For a more detailed description of the security problems, you can always check Canonical’s security notification.

The security problems can be corrected if you upgrade your system(s) to the latest xul-ext-unity and xul-ext-ubufox packages, specific to each distribution. To apply the update, run the Update Manager application.

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes. A system restart will not be necessary to implement the changes, but you will have to restart the browser.
