Users can now create USB flash drives with Ubuntu once again

A new version of the infamous USB Creator GTK, also known as Startup Disk Creator, has been made available in the Ubuntu repositories.

I reported a short while back that one of the applications in the Ubuntu universe, which has been available in the same form for several editions, was still broken for a lot of people.

I'm now pleased to announce that Canonical finally decided to do something about that particular package and they have pushed a new version in the repositories, for Ubuntu 13.10 and Ubuntu 14.04.

Saucy Salamander is still a long way out and it would have been weird to release an LTS version with an application that doesn't work half the time for a lot of users.

You don't have to do anything special, just upgrade the system and the new version will be put in place.
