Quirky, a Linux distribution from the “Puppy Linux” family that is used to introduce new ideas and applications, has now reached version 6.1.3.

This version of Quirky, 6.1.3, is intended to be as small as possible, providing support for f2fs (Flash-Friendly File System) and a few others.

“Quirky 6.1.3 has just one change, a fix for the Snapshot Manager. I discovered, when recovering a snapshot, that /usr/X11R7/lib/X11/fonts/misc disappeared again, making ycalc and rxvt inoperable,” reads the official announcement.

Also, the system snapshot mechanism has been fixed and a number of other bugs have been corrected so far in this new branch.

More details about this bleeding edge release of Puppy can be found in the official blog post. Download Quirky 6.1.3 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
