Black Lab Linux developers have come up with an interesting updated tool

The developers of Black Lab Linux 4.2 announce that they have implemented the latest stable Linux kernel, 3.13, into their distribution.

The latest Linux kernel for your distribution is not accompanied by any visual changes, but it does feature improved hardware support, better power management, improved performance, and lots of other features.

“Today we are pleased to release the Linux kernel 3.13 for Black Lab Linux 4.x. The install script has been tested on OS/4 OpenLinux 14.x, Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 13.x, 14.x, 15.x, 16.x,” reads the announcement from the developers.

In order to install the latest Linux kernel into your Black Lab Linux distro, you will have to download the Kernel 3.13.3 Updater. Open a terminal and run the following commands, the folder where you downloaded the archive:

tar -xvf kernel-3.13.3.tar.gz chmod a+x kernel-3.13.3.sh ./kernel-3.13.3.sh
