File Roller 3.13.2, an archive manager for the GNOME desktop environment which can be used to create, modify, and view the content of archives, has been released and can now be tested.

File Roller is only a graphical interface for archiving utilities such as tar and zip. Since version 3.6.0, it can optionally use libarchive to handle some archive types. The developers have been working on this application in this cycle and numerous fixes have been implemented.

According to the changelog, a new menu button icon is now used, the use of smclient and eggdesktopfile has been dropped, an appdata file has been added, a missing unref that occurred when accessing a NautilusFileInfo object has been fixed, and Nautilus no longer crashes when unmounting a network connection while transferring and then reconnecting to that service.

Also, the headerbar is now used in the dialogs and numerous translations have been updated. A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement. You can download File Roller 3.13.2 right now from Softpedia, but this is just the source package.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
