APT (Advanced Package Tool), a set of core tools inside Debian that makes it possible to install, remove, and keep applications up to date, is now at version 0.9.14.2.

Advanced Package Tool was launched back in 1998, and 15 years later it's almost at version 1.0. The developers are still releasing small increments, and it will take it a while to get to 1.0. Highlights of APT 0.9.14.2:

• /tmp is now used as fallback, if the directory from $TMPDIR is not available; • Ubuntu-codename has been fixed; • A few terminal size issues with e.g. "less" when "APT::Progress-Fancy=1" is used have been fixed; • Move TMPDIR handling into GetTempDir() and use that instead of getenv ("TMPDIR"); • apt-key net-update and integration test have been added.

A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement. Download APT (Advanced Package Tool) 0.9.14.2 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
