Dropbox 2.11.4, a client for an online service that lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere, has been released for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X.

This is a development version of Dropbox, and beginning with the 2.11.x branch, the developers have started to make a number of important changes to the Linux client as well.

According to the changelog, the tray popup can now be opened with the keyboard, the cutoff text in the Camera Uploads popup has been fixed, and a rare issue with file identifiers tracking on Mac has been corrected. In addition, a number of other smaller fixes have also been implemented.

The Dropbox 2.11.x branch of the software comes with a number of interesting changes and improvements, like a new Qt-based interface, Linux headless setup flow, faster uploads for small files, and more.

Linux users need to know that they don't have access to binary files of the latest Dropbox client, unlike the users of other operating systems. This means that you will only get the source package and you will have to run it by yourself. The other solution is to wait until it gets integrated into the repositories, which could take a very long time.

Check out the official announcement for more details about this release.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
