Rocket For Linux

Describing what Rocket is might be a bit more difficult than actually telling you what it does.

In short, it allows you to synchronize music and visuals in demoscene productions. It does so with the help of a Qt5-based GUI editor, and an  ANSI C library that can "communicate with the editor over a network socket, or playback an exported data set."

Rocket is a multi-purpose modular rocket control system that features support for a warhead plugin interface, as well as for the full standard compliant remote navigation protocols.

One of the most impressive aspects of Rocket is the fact that it's completely free and open-source, and that it works on all major OSes out there (Windows, macOS, and Linux).

The most important component of Rocket is the editor. The Rocket editor uses qmake. This means that it can output Makefiles, Microsoft Visual Studio project files, and can be built directly from QtCreator. For more details, check out the qmake documentation section.

Using the editor is very similar to using a music tracker (you know, that tracks columns and rows). Each track is represented by a "variable" over the entire time domain of the demo. As expected, each row represents a specific point in time and contains a series of keyframes. These keyframes are interpolated over time (according to their interpolation modes).

Rocket is a very interesting multi-purpose modular rocket control system that, as mentioned before, allows you to synchronize music and visuals. It's not the only app of this sort, but considering just how rare and how different these apps are from on another, Rocket is definitely a good option to consider.
