TurnKey Matomo Live CD For Linux

TurnKey Matomo Live CD is an open source and free Debian-based distribution of Linux designed from the ground up to be used as an easy-to-use appliance for deploying dedicated servers with the Matomo (formerly Piwik) software.

Matomo is an open source web-based software designed as an alternative to the Google Analytics platform. It features detailed reports. The appliance comes with all of the upstream Matomo configurations, which are installed by default in /var/www/matomo.

Key features include support for secure connections using the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) specification, a Postfix MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) for sending emails to users, the phpMyAdmin administration front-end for MySQL databases, as well as Webmin modules for configuring MySQL, PHP, Postfix and Apache.

It is distributed as Live CD ISO images that can be written to USB thumb drives or CD discs, as well as virtual images for the Xen, OVF, OpenVZ, OpenNode and OpenStack virtualization technologies. You can install the appliance on any computer that supports the 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architecture.

While the default username for the Postfix, SSH, MySQL and Webmin components is root, the default Matomo username is admin. Setting passwords for the system administrator account, the MySQL 'root' account, and the Matomo 'admin' account is possible after the installation process.

Users must add a valid email address for the Matomo 'admin' account and enter the domain to server Matomo. Optionally, you can initialize the TurnKey Dynamic DNS, Domain Management, Backup and Migration services during the first boot configuration process.

At the end of the installation process, which requires users to only partition the disk and install the bootloader, you'll be able to view the active services for this appliance, so make sure that you write down their IP addresses and ports.
