TurnKey Jenkins Live CD is an open source software appliance that is based on the Debian GNU/Linux operating system and designed to be used by people who are looking for a straightforward and easy-to-use solution for deploying dedicated Jenkins servers with minimum effort.
Jenkins is an open source and award-winning web application that's capable of monitors executions of repeated jobs. The appliance comes with all of the upstream Jenkins configurations, which are installed by default in /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps.
The Jenkins installation is pre-configured with PrivateSecurityRealm, disabling signups and allowing users to fully control the application once logged in. Futhermore, the JENKINS_HOME environment is configured in /var/local/lib/jenkins and supports the Git, Subversion, Mercurial and Bazaar version control systems.
The appliance includes Apache, Java (OpenJDK) and Tomcat configurations, with the Apache Jk load balancer, JkMounts, system wide environment variables for Java and Tomcat, admin user and admin/manager roles for Tomcat, and Tomcat AJP connector.
For security reasons, the Tomcat HTTP connector listener has been removed from this TurnKey appliance, which also comes with a Postfix mail server for sending emails to users, SSL support, and Webmin modules for configuring Postfix and Apache.
The distribution is available for download as Live CD ISO images, which can be written to USB flash drives or CD discs, as well ready-to-use virtual machine images for the OpenVZ, OVF, Xen, OpenSTack and OpenNode virtualization technologies.
The default username for MySQL, Webmin, phpMyAdmin and SSH is root, and the default Jenkins username is admin. During the first boot configuration process, users can set passwords for the root (system administrator) account, as well as for the admin account.
From the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console, it is possible to set up network interfaces, reboot or shutdown the server. Remote administration is also possible using the built-in SSH, SFTP, Web Shell and Webmin services.
What's new in TurnKey Jenkins Live CD 15.4:
