We reported earlier the availability for download of the second and final Beta builds of the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) operating system and all the opt-in flavors that participated in this release.

For Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, this was the first public Beta release, and on this occasion, and at the request of many of our readers, we decided to create a quick screenshot tour to show the world what they'll get later this spring, when the operating system will launch.

If you've clicked the link in the first paragraph and read the article, you probably are aware of the new features implemented by the Ubuntu developers in this final Beta build of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, which is dubbed by Canonical as Xenial Xerus and will see the light of day on April 21, 2016.

But to summarize them again, we can mention that Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Final Beta ships with Linux kernel 4.4.6 LTS, GNOME Software as the default graphical package manager, GNOME Calendar as the default calendar app, and the latest versions of the preinstalled apps, including LibreOffice 5.1.1, Firefox 45.0.1, systemd 229, etc.

Anyway, enough chit-chat, and check the screenshot gallery below to see what Ubuntu 16.04 LTS will look like (not much change from previous versions through) or download the Live ISO images for 64-bit or 32-bit platforms right now from our website and take the Final Beta for a test drive.
