The developers are blaming the low sales figures on Steam

The low number of Linux sales for the Puppy Games developer has made them vent some anger on Twitter about the problems they are facing.

It's a well-known fact that Linux gamers have just a little bit over 1% of the Steam pie. It's been like that since the beginning and it doesn't seem to change anytime soon. The apparent low gaming adoption for the Linux platform is not without effects and game developers are affected by this problem.

Puppy Games is a well-known and established studio that has some good games under its belt, like Titan Attacks, Ultratron, Droid Assault, and Revenge of the Titans. They made all their games available on Linux, even before Steam took off, but the sales have been very poor, so say the least.

"LINUX GAMERS! To date we've made just **$12,000** from Linux games in total for all time for all four of our games! This will not do! I wonder if other devs have seen similarly paltry sums and whether considering continued economic relevance of Linux," the devs wrote on Twitter.

If they stop the Linux support, these devs will be the first to do so and it would send a really bad signal across the board for everyone. It's unclear what is really happening because Steam doesn't provide any kind of sale numbers, but we'll try to keep you posted.
