The program works very well. It has a tremendous amount of flexibility -- provides a set of building blocks from which you can create your own server/system. But it is not appropriate for beginners, advanced Linux skills are needed to install and configure.

Claims to work with all *nix platforms, including Mac. I have only tried it on Linux where it works very well; not compatible with MS Windows. Also it supports many different brands of modems.

It is important to read the (well written) docs to understand how to configure and use this software.

In addition to fax send/receive it also optionally provides voice mail capability and remote login access, e.g. your computer becomes a remote terminal server. With auto detection of the incoming call type.

Not as powerful as an Asterix PBX but does a couple of things that Asterix does not do and with a lot less complexity. However to utilize this system to it\'s full potential be prepared to write some shell programs.

Limitation: Does not support the newer color fax standard, only does black and white faxing (which is what the majority of fax machines use).

Wish I knew about this software for my previous fax project would have saved me a lot of time.
