Zenwalk is a great Linux distro. It is very speedy and has a nice desktop layout. But, its certainly NOT the easiest to install, nor to update. The installation manager and package manager are two of the first major improvements that needs to be tackled right off the bat in any future updates! There also seem to be bugs with regards to installation of software from online repos. Unfortunately, most downloads don't seem to work after they have been installed - successfully.
Overall, it's hard to recommend this distro for beginners because it has some major flaws that need to be fixed first. But, if any user is willing to fore-go the headaches of tinkering with a potential future awesome Linux distro, then go for it.
Bug report: Too many fatal errors on two socket 478 Intel/type home/test/computers during hdd install...both installs failed....I highly
recommend installing Sidux-XFCE instead
.....I could not locate a synaptic update manager
in Sidux-XFCE?.....I have noticed that
Sidux-XFCE reboots fast on older pc's....and
it's a breeze to install.....my main home pc is
a ABIT socket 775 running Ubuntu8.10.
