I thought I'd have a play with this today, found an old Athlon XP2400 PC and and 2nd network card, I was going to setup on a test network then found while installing it has a tranparent bridging mode so instead I just set it up with a static ip address and put between my network and firewall/server. The modules are a doddle to install, just select the one you want then download, that's it, I didn't need to configure any of them, currently installed is the web filter and blockers for spam, phish, spyware, virus and ads. The admin is all web based which can be done remotely and shows you in real time what it is allowing/blocking.
I would definitely consider using it if I was running a small business with Windows PCs, I may even keep it at home, but as I am mainly Linux I don't really need it.
Very impressed couldn't be much simpler. |
