i downloaded the iso, but was not able to install it. it says that this disc has an error. somebody help me!!

i heard about the ubuntu studio about 2 weeks ago. i bought a new machine on which to run the appliation and i have spent around 10 days trying to install it and get it to run. i have failed to do either and am out of pocket as a result.
can anyone tell me how i can perform the above taske which seem so much simpler on other non linux symptoms.

Well, well, well, well the so long "upgrade" for Ubuntu 8.04 is out... and should send back to the garbage. What... that is rude. No it is fair. At this point I was not very happy with the 8.04 for it's lack of hardware detection, the grub horror that bust completely your MBR (useful if you want your Windowx Xp to play). The installation of Nvidia driver that crumble and so and so. But, when it works, it still a very good OS. The 8.04.1 and the 1 seems to be important was supposing to correct not all but most of the bugs. Wright... wrong. The detection of your hardware remain a stinker. The Nvidia installation of the driver well... it's crap. Trying to configure a basic graphic tablet was, well, the worst part of it.

What Canonical is thinking... to my point... they've got 2 strikes against at 3 strikes your out.

Is it possible to fetch all the updates available, and all of the other packages not included in the main DVD and put them into an addon CD of DVD ?

It's because not all of us have internet connection .. It'll be great and easier for us to have all in another addon to be added by synaptic :)
