Have had years away from linux, and have only just downloaded and installed 10.10. Loved everything about it. The download from the site was fast, the install went like a breeze. No need to load any additional hardware drivers for wireless, nic, touch pad. Btw, i installed it on an old asus laptop. Then it just all worked perfectly, fast, easy. My 6 year old is always on the net with it, playing flash games and i don't have to worry about trojans, etc.
Also, tethered it to my Nokia mobile, first go, no additional drivers need. From my linux Red hat days, Ubuntu linux has come a long, long way.

Hi. I'm new to ubuntu and when I installed ubuntu 10.10 Maveric Meerkat on my other laptop, the installation got stuck at this message:

Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB
list possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB list possible
device or file completions.
Do you think that you could help me with this, please ?

today it is time for us all to use something new, I yajin that with linux / ubuntu is all of us who want to develop will be able to live in a life that is so new in using computers.

I am interested at Ubuntu because for me darting through the good and easy for us to learn that so it's better for me is it again? not easy to get a virus.

I my Opinion Ubuntu 10.10 is the best Release so far, for a "Normal" User , maybe some People wouldn´t agree, buts my opinion.

I love it, the hole OS feels more smoother running better, everything seems to work better together and of course Shotwell is on great improvement.
