I recently started using video editing software and was looking for an open source alternative. I read about a coupla programs the best of which were dead(jahshaka) Then I found Pitivi. It is still early but it can simple cut and paste edits very easily as well as render video in many formats. The project is under heavily development and the software looks to have a bright future with effects and much more planed for the near future. I am very happy I found this program and will continue using it.
