I think that open source software is the future. From it's use in Android & all the 'cheap' , so rapidly changing digital media equipment without which we could not make such significant progress; or realistically expand computing into the third world & that's without the advantages to small business, large corporations, government services & education. I have been a Linux (mainly Ubuntu) fan & user for years, dual booting with Windows, but have now found an operating system which works out-of-the-box, has everything I need, with an easy learning-curve. I am very impressed by the Turkish Government / University's initiative with Pardus & can for the first time see an end to any need to tolerate the burden of Windows updates & security issues with their associated problems & expense. If only the British government had had this initiative!

Don't take me as a core supporter of Pardus but I have use quite a lot KDE Linux OS and the conclusion is Pardus is the best KDE distribution.

    What I Found:
    1: Installation is simple.
2: It's very stable as compared to any KDE.
3: Never Crashes or shows any sluggish screens.
4: Got a very nice application installer.
5: based on Gentoo which is itself is one of the most stable distributions.
6: Very sleek and has almost all applications pre-intalled.
    7: Looks very beautiful.

    CONS:
Don't have a fast download mirror.

GIVE IT A TRY... YOU WON'T REGRET .

The best kde 4 distro. Beautiful GUI. Works out of the box! Disadvantages, smaller repositories than other distros, kde 4 too complicated compared to gnome (but gnome, to old look for 2010)...

I have tried allmost all major Linux distros. What I like about Pardus is, It doesn't have tons of similar applicatios and I thing that makes it easy to use for new comers. Most of the time the poeple I instal linux to deir computer have no idea about linux or the application names even to do basic tasks. Then giving them only one option makes easy for those people to start using Linux.

Not as good as Pardus 2008.2 with KDE3.5 I think KDE4.2 is not userfriendly, nice design but to complicated for ordinary use.
I have to much problem with things that not work.
Maybe the coming Pardus 2009.1 with KDE4.3 be better.

Pardus is awesome OS. One of the things I have always wanted from Linux is to be walked through all the processes involving its use. When I saw some screenshots about its installation I could not believe that it has such a nice, simple and elegant installer that shows step by step what is going on. Amazing! That made me feel so good! To be honest with you all, I cannot get enough of it! Congratulations to all the people involved in this project.

Excellent OS. I have been GNU Linux user from early 90-s, my first successful install of X-desktop was Slackware -Windows 3.1 was ruling then. I was amazed how environmentally friendly OS it was - my overclocked Pentium 75 to 90 ran cool when idling. For the comparison, MSDOS6.22 based Win3.1 draw continuously maximum power and I had to use extra cooler to handle that heat. Along these years I have followed the desktop GNU Linux progress and I have always waited for fully functional, easy to deploy preferably free opensource OS. I have tried all major desktop GNU Linux distros, I have bought SuSe 6.3 and 7.3, living with them and being happy and moving on by time to come. I have paid for LindowsOS/Linspire and was disappointed and felt betrayed by M.Robertson. Then I discovered Pardus 2007, and since then, this is my only GNU Linux desktop distro I use on my several desktops, notebooks, doing my everyday work, using it at home and on the go. I have converted some friends computers over to Pardus, totally ditching proprietary broken and clumsy OS, providing more security and freedom.
From time-to-time I make test installations of all new major distro releases to find out, what have they accomplished, what good they provide for desktop user, should I consider to move on from Pardus? And I return back to my beloved Pardus. I find more and more over-hyped features the big distros advertise have been included in Pardus for some time ago. I could live well with Gentoo or Slackware very happily, but I am tired of heavy customization need of them before they become usable for me. Simply said - Pardus fits my needs best.
I hope, every linux fan finds the very special best fit for themselves. Use it, love it, contribute back if you can and look around what others are doing. Love you, J.J.

apart of being one of the simpliest, fully functional and stable distribution i found out, it is also one of the only two distro ( among a lot i tried) that comes with out of the box support for my wireless card BCM4318 Airforce one 54g v2.0 togheter with Klikit Linux, without any need to ethernet connection
