    PC-BSD 9-20120505!!!! As I said before - What a disaster!!!
Modern Operating Systems install in less than 30 minutes but PC-BSD 9-20120505 takes 2 hours on the same hardware to get to 25% base system and 72% packages installed. I had to abort at this stage. Decided to let it install over night - after 8 hours it was still at 25% base and 72% packages installed but swapping software back and forth between all drives on the system instead of installing to the drive it has been instructed to install to. Obviously whoever is writing the install routine knows very little about modern hardware. Aborted as I have not got any further time to waste on this abysmal offering. After aborting it didn't even eject the DVD before rebooting!!! As I said, they know very little about modern hardware. I see little hope for the future of PC-BSD unless they learn how to install their OS efficiently..

What a Pity! What a Disaster!
    It takes ages to boot.
Cannot detect the correct graphics card so hence gives a 1023x768 square screen in the middle of the monitor - same as PCLinuxOS 2012.
Install set-up is reasonable and easy to follow.
Once it starts to install it is a Disaster!
Very slow to format the 4 year old 32Gb SSD drive I use for testing but worse is fact that the install is so tediously slow.
Most Distributions take 10 minutes, or less, to a maximum of 20 minutes, but after 8 hours (I went to bed and it was still trying to install when I got up) PC-BSD had only gotten to 50% .... ... and then it locked-up!!!
Tried to install again and this time it locked-up at 2%.
Overall not very good. Needs lots of work before being useful.

I tried PCBSD 8.0 and then 8.1. The installation and app update is far too slow. The boot time is unreasonable long (unacceptable) for a FreeBSD based system. On 27 Feb 2011, I tried PCBSD 9.0 on Samsung 64 bits Notebook with 8 GB ram w/o dual boot. The installation is OK. However, no open office or other useful application installed. The gnome desktop looks ugly. No wireless card support. Poor thing!

It\'s fair. Comparing to OSX on PC, it isn\'t as organized and simple.
