    I have tried the mainstream versions of Linux mint and i have also tried the Fluxbox version on an old Sony Vaio that i had. It worked very well and was quite fast. The great bonus for lux Mint in all its versions is that it installs easily without a lot of technical knowledge, which i do not have. The other great thing for laptops is that the wireless installs easily out of the box. i tired many Linux distros and i settled on Mint because it works well, much better than ubuntu for example

    MInt is not only Ubuntu ++, but this IS THE DISTRO for a Windows newcomer and for everyone who wants Linux working out of the box and 100% usability. MInt Fluxbox is THE DISTRO for ancient computers. Try Linux Mint - any of its versions - and stop searching your ideal distro.
