Iv'e installed LegacyOS2 on so many old computers, some that wouldn't run anything, but LegacyOS2 purred like a kitten. There's nothing much else to install, 'except maybe a game or two. What attracted me from the very start was the large selection of games preinstalled; A lot of people in my circle of friends and family are turned of by Linux's lack of game software. I used to set up other Linuxes (Freespire, Linspire, Xandros) for people who wanted a "Windows" feel, to get them over the hump of getting comfortable with Linux, but after they tried it they said, 'yea, its nice but where are the games!' They all love Legacy2 because its all there! Iv'e run it on PC's at 200mhz and 64meg of ram to 800 mhz with 512 megs of ram, and at both ends of the spectrum the feel is still snappy and fast. It is the perfect beginner OS because theres no fuss or muss; just install! Works great! -Trust me.

It's excellent and even I was able to understand it. Now comes the task with the printer drivers.....
Top marks and thank you for an excellent operating system!

For older hardware, this one rocks ! I've tried it on everything from thin clients, to laptops, to desktops. Never fails to load the hardware drivers for my 3 wireless adapters either (1 USB & 2 PCMCIA). Linux isn't for geeks anymore, folks. It will revive old dusty computers into useful machines again, with ease. Thanks to everyone at Puppy Linux for a good thing ! And it's free, like free beer ! ( I would still toss them a few bones, though )

For Prof. R. Jayaram: I think you should use a CD-RW disc.... this way you can erase it every time you want. Also, I suggest to try burning with a different application, there are a lot out there (Brasero, GnomeBaker, etc).

I downloaded TEENpup 2009 Legacy.iso today, file length is 696.0 mb and checked and found MD5 sum value OK. But on trying to burn it using K3b it showed the correct MD5 sum , but still reported that "This image file has invalid file size. If it has been downloaded, make sure the download is completed. Only continue if you know what you are doing". MD5 sum being okay, how can one get this report? What has gone wrong? I do not want to waste one CD and hence this request for help.
    Thanks.

A great distro that comes frustratingly close to being an excellent one. Things to improve: a) The install process is way too complicated. It should be as simple as the Ubuntu install. TeenPup aims to make the transition from Windows to Linux as seamless as possible, yet fails at this first - fundamental - hurdle. b) Include screensavers by default. I couldn't find any when I looked in TeenPup Legacy 2009. If they are there, then the process to set them up is again way too complex. c) The process for connecting with the Net, especially wirelessly needs to be simplified. Again, take a leaf out of Ubuntu's book, TeenPup. d) On a purely cosmetic level, the screensavers, especially the default in the Legacy 2009, version leave a lot to be desired. I liked the plain blue theme used in TeenPup 2008.

To fiddley. Worked on my old NF2 rigg a treat. I find my self having to agree with user Elvind. A lot of work needed yet to make it more intuitive. It could be a nice little o.s, when the system is made more "average joe".

Not very intuitive. You have to search through the menus to find gparted to partition a harddrive. Then you have to search even harder to find the setup utility, and then you get the option to install grub - the "easy" selection then renders a stupid grub setup where you have to press enter three or four times to boot. A lot more work is needed for this to be a viable option for the average user. MORE SIMPLICITY = MORE USERS.
