As a long time konqueror user I have grown accustomed to the ability of having multiple tabs open to various servers, drives and files. Dolphin is severely limited in this capacity and forces me to work like a Windows user... constrained by system limitations.

I will stick with KDE 3.5 and konqueror as long as it is available since they both do what I need without limiting my ability to maximize my work style.

I love this app. The only problem I found was that in split screen mode (which is the mode that I would prefer to use all the time) when you mouse over a file the filename appears on the status bar at the bottom of the window, if the file name is longer than a few characters it wraps in the status bar increasing the height of the status bar and moving the list of files you are trying to select from. Please limit the status bar to one row, I don't see the need to show the filename in the status bar at all but if you want to keep this feature at least truncate the name rather than resizing the staus bar.

First of all, I should mention exactly what I was searching for when I found Dolphin File Manager. I wanted a *simple* two-panel file manager, because I transfer a lot of files between two specific directories numerous times each day. I normally had a konqueror window open with two tabs, but knew that there was a better tool out there.

So I came to softpedia and looked through the file managers. I found the famous ones... midnight commander, krusader, and so on. These all have tons of features, which other users might love, but for me are overkill. I don't want buttons and menus everywhere, just two simple panes free from clutter.

This is what dolphin gives me. As an added bonus, there's a very easy to use bookmarking system and a free disk space display at the bottom of each panel.

For my needs, Dolphin gets a 5/5. Thanks to the developers!!!
