I should make a correction to the command I gave you:
sudo mkdir -p /media/dmg
sudo mount -t hfsplus -o loop /path/to/originaldmg.dmg /media/dmg

Is the dmg file you are attempting to mount z-lib compressed? If not, then directly mount the dmg using the following command:
sudo mount -t hfsplus -o loop /path/to/originaldmg.dmg

The reason why the above command didn't work for the img file was because since the original dmg was not z-lib compressed, the img which was created was corrupt. To see whether or not the img is corrupt, just run:
ls -la /path/to/imgfile.img

And if the file size is 0, then the dmg could not have been successfully decompressed because it was not compressed in the first place.

I tried everything & it simply doesn't work for me. It seems to have problems converting from .dmg to .img. When I try to mount the .img (as root) manually -ie "mount -t hfsplus -o loop /path/to/tmp/file.img /media/originalDMGname" , it reports that its the wrong fs type.
Anyone else have probs? I'm using Fedora 10.

This is the first time I've seen a software which successfully mounts (then unmounts) a dmg image file! This is a must for all Linux users!
