Brilliant little player which has resolved alot of my issues about using one program for video and another for music. It makes much more user sense than rhythmbox and is fun to use. The only think which I would consider as not standing up to par is the music progression bar. In rhythmbox & itunes you can jump to any given part of the track without any problem which is problematic with banshee. The only reason I bring this up is because it is a feature which is needed for any serious film media player.

Banshee is an excellent music player and it gets better with every release. I'll be honest, I was one of those people who used iTunes on Windows and really loved it. iTunes was the only program that kept me dual-booting. I had been testing Banshee-1 since the alpha release, but in September I finally decided to make the switch and I don't regret it.

I'm only giving it 4 stars overall because there's certainly still room to grow, especially with features, but the development pace is impressively fast and I can't wait to see what they introduce in the 1.5/1.6 series.

I'm using PCLinuxOS, and I've downloaded the tar.bx2 file. Now, how do I install it?
