I recently did a clean install of Fedora 11 and had to reinstall Alarm Clock, so I grabbed the latest version. I do want to mention to anyone who doesn't know, the installation instructions are different for the newer version (I had been running 0.9.8). Instead of running the setup.py script, you now need to use the standard ./configure && make && su(do) make install to compile it. You can also find packages for ubuntu and fedora 10 and 11. Check out the official website: http://www.alarm-clock.pl/

On to the revew! This is a great little program I've been using for several months now. It's simple and really easy to set quick reminders or regular alarms. It has a number of different notification methods including sound and dialog windows, or roll your own as it has an option to run a command at the scheduled time. I highly reccomend this, especially if you are using Gnome or XFCE and don't want to have to install a bunch of KDE libs to get KAlarm.

Did exactly what I was hoping for. Went 2 weeks in the Ubuntu user forums trying to get an answer on how to make Kcron and Evolution do this as both appear to be capable of sound... but still could not get any alarms to produce sound. Then I found this application and it worked like a charm. Thank you Tomasz
