So this will be my last comment on APODIO. It was going well for 1 day. Sometime, while on the internet, I muted the sound ----- and that was the end of all sound. No more. Booting up made no difference, I wasn't able to fix the sound. No more sound - no more APODIO........

Ok guys, I installed the distro twice more and when it comes to needing the password - it failed. So I just cracked it. The password is: linux

No matter what password you choose during setup - it's still "linux".

I installed the distro twice, thinking I stuffed up with the password. No, I didn't. There is no way, one can access the software centre with the password. Keyboard is correct and number-lock is off, so there is NO reason one should NOT be able to access the software centre. Pity - an otherwise good looking distro.......

Here we have another excellent distro, top-heavy on audio and video production, nevertheless without compromising any other important aspects of a distro. Using brasero, I burnt the distro onto a disk and I am writing these lines from it.

Everything on the disk I investigated, worked. Sound, internet, printer, software sources - even the hard drive can be accessed and manipulated from it. So it can even be used as a "rescue" disk. Libre Office is there (all of it) and countless video, audio and photo programs. I didn't see SKYPE, which without a doubt can be installed from the relevant website. I checked to see "gnome-commander" and "korganizer" - both of which were available. The desktop is crisp and clean. The speed very fast.

All up, Apodio is an excellent distro with heaps of useful programs, particularly for the audio and video enthusiast. But it is equally as well equipped for everyday use.
