| GUI: Features: Ease of use: Value: | | I was excited how easy and reliable the packet manager works. The frontend for the ndiswrapper is also "a must" in my opinion and I found it in kubuntu 8.04 beta. The system was also stable enough - I didn't experience crashes or software faults.
I couldn't find KDE4 preinstalled. Suppose It has to be installed additionally.
One big negative (and that's why I wrote above "was", instead of "is") is that the installation didn't ask where to install the GRUB boot loader. As my laptop is running pointsec hdd encryption software, Kubuntu caused me a lot of headache. I've never seen before a linux distro, which decides by itself where to write the boot loader.
P.S. I downloaded and installed Kubuntu from alternate CD-don't know if it was the right one, but it's unacceptable to not have at least warning message/question for that!
