New in nut 18.7 (Apr 9, 2013)

  • This version fixed a bug in the display of trans fatty acids that was introduced in the previous release.

New in nut 18.6 (Apr 8, 2013)

  • This version incorporates revisions the USDA made to their SR25 database.

New in nut 18.5 (Jan 5, 2013)

  • This version fixes a possible buffer overflow when analyzing incompletely planned meals showing negative quantities.

New in nut 18.4 (Nov 17, 2012)

  • This version includes minor bugfixes and makefile changes.

New in nut 18.3 (Nov 1, 2012)

  • This version fixes bugs including the erroneous indication from the calorie auto-set feature whether the user is "bulking" or "cutting".

New in nut 18.2 (Oct 15, 2012)

  • This version fixes a bug where Omega-3 would be over-estimated on certain analyses because the food database derived nutrient fields were added up incorrectly.

New in nut 18.1 (Oct 11, 2012)

  • This version includes a revised C++/FLTK graphical user interface.

New in nut 18.0 (Sep 29, 2012)

  • This version introduces the new USDA Nutrient Database SR25, and allows current installations to have their existing meal records reinterpreted with the new database.

New in nut 17.10 (Jul 21, 2012)

  • This version improves the automatic portion control feature by getting rid of analysis presets and substituting new options that do the same thing.
  • The FLTK GUI has been discontinued.

New in nut 17.8 (May 9, 2012)

  • This version makes the graphical user interface resizable and provides automatic scaling of fonts upon resizing.

New in nut 17.5 (Dec 29, 2011)

  • This version fixes the calorie auto-set feature so it will not initialize a weight log with a wild measurement, and a bug where the meal database was not saved if all foods were deleted from a meal.

New in nut 17.4 (Nov 7, 2011)

  • This version includes the corrections that the USDA has recently made to the SR24 Nutrient Database.

New in nut 17.1 (Oct 21, 2011)

  • This version works with both fltk-1.3.0 and fltk-1.1.10, and fixes a bug in the DOS version that did not allow access to the weight log if a different database was invoked.

New in nut 17.0 (Sep 29, 2011)

  • This version introduces the new USDA Nutrient Database SR24, and allows current nut installations to have their existing meal records reinterpreted with the new database.

New in nut 16.13 (Jul 13, 2011)

  • This version reverts to fltk-1.1.10 to fix a bug in pulldown menus.

New in nut 16.11 (May 19, 2011)

  • This version adds a calorie auto-set feature, which can determine the optimal calorie level for improved body composition if one records daily weight and body fat measurements and eats according to the adjusted calorie level shown.

New in nut 16.10 (Apr 27, 2011)

  • This version adds "Weight Log Regression" to the GUI, a feature that applies linear regression to a weight log and enables one to know quickly if a nutrition strategy is increasing lean mass and decreasing fat mass.

New in nut 16.7 (Feb 18, 2011)

  • This version includes several minor bugfixes and performance improvements for the graphical user interface.

New in nut 16.6 (Jan 17, 2011)

  • The graphical user interface version retains the essential program functions and the same general layout, although the connections between the program functions are made synchronous and explicit in the GUI.
  • Both the console program and the GUI operate identically on the underlying database.

  • This release introduces the new USDA Nutrient Database SR22 and allows current nut installations to have their existing meal records reinterpreted with the new database.

New in nut 14.5a (Sep 7, 2009)

  • The new feature "Weight Log Regression" does not tell you what you weigh; what it does is apply linear regression to a series of daily weight and body fat percentage entries to smooth out the random noise and tell you which direction your weight is trending, how fast it is going there, and how much of the change is lean or fat.
