ReminderFox for Firefox 2.1 - Changelog

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 2.1:

    May 16th, 2013

    · New Remote calendar support!
    · There is now proper support for synchronizing directly with remote calendars. Popular services such as fruux, Google calendar, and owncloud have been tested. By synchronizing ReminderFox with a calendar provider, it is now possible to sync your ReminderFox events across mobile devices (such as iPhone or Android phones).
    See full documentation here:

    Some cool things:
    · Remote calendars can have colors set, and events for that calendar will show up highlighted in that color in the list.
    · You can have multiple remote calendars synchronized into your single Reminders list.
    · You can add a column on the list to view which events are synchronized to which calendar.

    Improvements:
    · Quick Alarm menu added to the Foxy menu in the Reminder list
    · Alarm dialog can now can be resized, and the size will be persisted thereafter.
    · New Reminder repeat option to support "COUNT"; you can now set an event to repeat for a specified number of times. Thanks to user Peter de Leuw for the request.
    Fixes:
    · Finally! Fixed issue where repeating todo alarms would not pop up.
    · Fixed: ReminderFox list was not opening properly when some columns were being set to sort (was just showing the calendar with empty list)
    · When delete recurring events/alarms, defaults button to delete 'this and previous'
    · When adding a reminder and setting a repeat, ReminderFox now warns the user if 'overlapping' start/end date spans conflict with the repeat interval.
    · Fixed: opening Edit window by clicking on calendar event was opening the Add dialog, not the Edit dialog
    · Fixed: 'Views' with string arguments did not work

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 2.0.2:

    November 15th, 2012

    Improvements:
    · Day Box popup in Calendar positioning will not overlap with selected day box anymore
    · Copy Reminder/Event with recurrence will give option to copy as single instance of selected date.
    Filter/Views:
    · Reminders and Todos/Lists have separate settings for default views
    · ViewsEditor directly activates the last Views used;
    · Date editing definition opens with hovering over the date box.
    Print/View:
    · Menu structure changed
    · added a help menu item which calls the printing documentation (English and German versions)

    Notes Textbox:
    · in Add/Edit dialog the number of lines can be user sized: add preference for min/max number of lines
    · name: extensions.reminderFox.notesLines
    · type: string; value: {min lines},{max lines}

    Options changes:
    'Display' Options:
    · Use single buttons bar: Add and OK buttons moved to top bar
    · switch to open the menu [Reminders] or [Todos/Lists] with mouse over or click
    · number of calendar months displayed
    · set the default text size
    'Tooltip' Options:
    · enable an 'Agenda' displayed at startup, this is helpful to get an overview out reminders and todos, that page can easily be printed with normal Firefox/Thunderbird printing
    'Defaults' Options:
    · List default has separate filter settings for Reminders/Todos with 'Last selected View' also
    'File' Options:
    · If changing the 'Local ReminderFox File Location' with unsaved events, a warning will be displayed to save/undo those changes

    · Fixes:Calendar Year header now relates always to 'selected' calendar day
    · Views with multi year selection in some cases didn't show correct events
    · [Help] call from Foxy didn't open the documentation
    · 3-month Calendar called with icon on FX/TB main menu bar in some cases events were missing
    · Networking: with networking enabled and the main dialog shown, added/edited events/todos could be lost
    · Import with categories now handles 'Cancel' as expected
    · Editing reminders will not change to origin date of reminder (row on List);
    · [Add Todos] for WEB page was not working
    · Open message with mail icon was failing in Thunderbird 15 if a Chat account was added

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 2.0.1:

    August 25th, 2012

    Fixes:
    · Defaulted the number of months shown in the calendar to 1. This behavior can be changed in the Options->Display tab under List and Calendar Setup.
    · Fixed: Reminders can be added by double-clicking on the calendar
    · Fixed: Performance of list/calendar. There was an issue with certain repeating reminders that spanned multiple days that caused long delays in displaying the calendar.
    · Fixed the calendar day popups that were showing up too quickly, obscuring the calendar, not going away, and generally behaving like a bad house guest.
    · Increased calendar day popup delay time to 1000ms (1 second) . This can be controlled via entering 'about:config' in the browser URL and searching on the preference 'extensions.reminderFox.calendar.daypopup.delay'. It can be shortened or increased as desired.
    · Fixed: the Foxy icon was not showing on the Toolbar button when 'small' icons mode was selected
    · Fixed: text search filter issues. The text search filter box had issues when typing, where the cursor was not behaving properly, making it difficult to use.
    · Fixed: Text size wasn't always responding as expected to keyboard shortcuts. CTRL-+ should now always increase the calendar size, and ALT-+ should increase the list text size. (CTRL - and ALT - will decrease the size).
    · Fixed: calendar day popup could be hidden _behind_ Calendar when opened from toolbar icon
    · Fixed issue where ReminderFox list dropdown could stay open after selecting Select List/Calendar Layout.

    Improvements:
    · Foxy's back! I missed Foxy so he's back in the bottom right of the calendar display. He can be hidden by right-clicking on him and selecting Hide Foxy. He can be shown again at any time by right-clicking underneath the calendar and selecting Show Foxy.
    · Cleaned up the look of the calendar and day popups a bit to have more consistent icons.

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 2.0:

    August 8th, 2012

    · The Calendar Layout has been expanded to show three months in order to show more information at a glance.
    · There is also a new 'calendar-only' layout. The selected day in the month grid will be expanded; that way all events of that day are shown directly.
    · Printing is more flexible and can be modified by the user.
    · An Agenda page showing Todays, Upcoming events and the ToDo’s List can be shown at startup of ReminderFox’s host application (Firefox, Thunderbird, Seamonkey).

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 1.9.9.5.1:

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 1.9.9:

    November 26th, 2010

    Improvements:

    · Introducing Foxy! As we approach version 2.0 it felt like it was time for a bit of an icon refresh, so our mascot Foxy is now featured in the UI. Tip: Don't like Foxy? You can hide him in the Reminder List (and status tooltip) by right-clicking and selecting Hide Foxy.
    · UI improvements have been made to declutter the Reminder List UI a bit and make for a better first-run experience.
    · The Options and Calendar buttons have been replaced by links in the calendar sidebar
    · The Filters and search dropdowns are hidden by default. They can be shown by clicking the Show Filters link in the sidebar. This preference will be remembered across sessions.
    · Integrated Filter/View bar. The separate View dropdown has been removed, and Views are now integrated into the existing Filter dropdown (the one with Selected Year, Selected Month, etc). · Fixed: if there was a snoozed alarm, repeating instances would sometimes not display

    · the current reminders if the calendar was showing a different year

    · Fixed: was not able to download a calendar from the Network options when not setting a user or password
    · Fixed "No password" error message for upload/download. It was instead saying an uninformative "Unexpected Error".

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 1.9.7:

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 1.9.6:

    February 1st, 2010

    New Features:
    · Copy Reminders - there is now a new option in the Reminder List context menu to Copy Reminder
    · and Copy ToDo. This will create a copy of the selected reminder and open up the Add Reminder
    · window with the pre-populated information.

    Improvements:
    · By popular demand, added back the Biweekly (fortnightly) repeat option in the Add Reminder repeat dropdown
    · Added context menu item on calendar for "Go to Today" which will reset the calendar back to Today's date.
    · Added option to show alarms in separate tabs or separate windows (as was the behavior in earlier versions).
    · To disable separate tabs, go to the ReminderFox options Notifications tab, and in the Alarms
    · section you can change the dropdown for "Show multiple alarms using" to "a separate window for each alarm"
    · You can now specify how long the alert slider will stay open. You can also set it so the alert slider stays
    · open until you click it. The preference is in the ReminderFox options in the Notifications tab; the
    · option is "Keep alert slider open". The default is "for 5 seconds", but you can change this to any length
    · of time you wish. If you instead select "until clicked" then once the alert slider is opened, it will stay
    · open until you click on it with your mouse.
    · Added UI preference for limiting status text length to a set number of characters (in the RemindeFox options Display tab; default: 40)
    · Added UI preference for setting maximum alert slider height, in pixels (in the ReminderFox options Notifications tab; default: 134)

    Bug fixes:
    · Was focusing Firefox window when alarm went off -- very annoying I'm told :)
    · alarm tab wasn't showing years properly (was showing "" )
    · calendar from toolbar wasn't redrawing "Today's" date; would keep original date emboldened, even after it was no longer
    · the current date
    · Remind Until Complete status was not being properly saved when events were processed hourly;
    · Fixed: Multiple alarm dialogs could still open even when using Tabbed window option
    · Fixed: Repeating reminders will no longer show multiple alarms for different occurrences of the same reminder
    · Fixed: When importing reminders and choosing to Overwrite, was not displaying a Success message.

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 1.9.5:

    November 7th, 2009

    New Features:
    · Views. Events selected with a 'View' setting can now be sent with an ICS data file/attachment (via the View dropdown menu). Each exported event will have the View label added as a category item.
    · Send ToDo's/List. Selected ToDos'/List now can be sent with an ICS data file/attachment. Each exported event will have its 'List' name added.
    · Open associated event (Thunderbird). You can now open the event stored for a message. It's now also possible to do this for events stored or moved to 'ToDo's/Lists' [as requested by Agnes Perrot and our good friend jake ;-) ]

    Improvements:
    · Tagging (Thunderbird). Reminderfox uses different 'tags' for messages eg.: 'Reminderfox' to show 'there is a Reminderfox event for this message', or 'iCal-REQUEST' to show 'this is an invitation request'. These tags now can use upper/lowercase letters. The ReminderFox tags don't stack at the top of the list anymore. The 'normal' keys are not changed anymore. The color of each tag set by Reminderfox can be set to another color with normal TB dialog.
    · Icon size on toolbar buttons now scales with 'normal/small' settings for the 'toolbar customize'
    · Todo events now can be imported from message/file (was silently skipped).
    · 'Open message' with events pointing to Draft/Templates will not open the message but only point to the folder. Those opened messages failed to support the [Edit] button.

    Bug Fixes:
    · 'List' name check for "ToDo's", "Reminders" or characters ':' ','; was causing problems with other functions
    · TB3.x compatibility for popup-menus
    · Seamonkey compatibility with SM 1.1.14 (Should do also for SB 0.9) [Thanks to Boothby-Smith for reporting]
    · MAC OSX bugs fixed for empty ToDo list, and alert slider.

    · Thanks to Günter Wahl for these many contributions.

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 1.9.1:

    March 26th, 2009

    New Features:
    · Views. Events selected with a 'View' setting can now be sent with an ICS data file/attachment (via the View dropdown menu). Each exported event will have the View label added as a category item.

    · Thanks to Günter Wahl for these many contributions.

What's new in ReminderFox for Firefox 1.9:

    January 6th, 2009

    New Features:
    · Views. You can now add Views in the Reminder List window. To add or switch a view, click the Magnifying Glass List icon. You can create views to show reminders that match a set of criteria (Description contains "birthday", Categories contains "Work", date falls within the current week, etc). This allows you to quickly get a specialized View on any list of reminders. (Big thanks to Günter Wahl)

    · Added new option to show the Week Numbers on the calendar. You'll find this in the Options->List display. You can select None, Default week numbering, or ISO 8601-style numbering.

    Improvements:
    · Clicking the status or toolbar icon when the Reminder list window is open will now close the window. This makes it easy to quickly open the Reminder list, scan what you're looking for, and then easily close the window (as suggested by reader Travis).

    · New keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl-Shift-O -> Opens ReminderFox. Ctrl-Shift-Y -> Opens Add Event window. From the Reminder List window, Ctrl-A opens either the Add Reminder/Add Todo window. Ctrl-T will advance the next tab. (Type about:config and modify the preferences
    · extensions.reminderFox.keyboard.shortcut.openReminderFox and
    · extensions.reminderFox.keyboard.shortcut.addEvent
