  • Built-in, up-to-date proxy country detection was added.
  • This is the last update to the free version, which is now considered stable.

New in NiX Linux ProxyChecker 1.5.1 (Nov 22, 2010)

  • The "Client cannot resolve the hostname" SOCKS5 feature was reverted, because a majority of public SOCKS5 proxies are unreliable.
  • The program should now give significantly more proxies.
  • Hostnames are now only resolved once.
  • Transparent proxy support has been added.

New in NiX Linux ProxyChecker 1.5.0 (Nov 16, 2010)

New in NiX Linux ProxyChecker 1.4.3 (Oct 25, 2010)

  • Threading was improved, so the program should be less CPU intensive. A bug was fixed, so at the end of a check, "Waiting for the running threads" now works as intended. As a new feature, proxies are now formatted to suitable format for the upcoming tool called NiX - Brute Force

New in NiX Linux ProxyChecker 1.4.2 (Oct 13, 2010)

  • A bug fix: Previous versions of NiX did not give any HTTP proxies results if the user used AZ Environment variables as Proxy Judge. This issue has now been fixed.

New in NiX Linux ProxyChecker 1.4.1 (Oct 12, 2010)

  • Bug fixes:
  • - This release respects the following settings whether those are set or not: Bad_Dns, Bad_Ip and Bad_Port
  • - If a user edited proxychk.conf with windows editor; Convert the file back to Unix format automatically
  • A user requested feature:
  • - Epoch timestamp will be added to proxies.txt for "checked ago" purposes. Needless to say, this will require a script that parses proxies.txt and either adds the results to the database or generates HTML page with the provided info.

New in NiX Linux ProxyChecker 1.4.0 (Sep 24, 2010)

  • Added features:
  • Estimated Time Remaining feature added so you can see how much time is left on your current check
  • Proxy List results are formatted to both simple and detailed outputs

New in NiX Linux ProxyChecker 1.3.3 (Sep 20, 2010)

  • A bug fix: There was a flaw in an array subsitution that caused non-existent pids in an array that keeps track of forked child processess. A hung task routine might have killed wrong processes. I am really sorry and apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
  • Due to the above fix:
  • NiX can now be ran as root, previous versions did not allow this
  • There should also be about 10% speed improvance compared to earlier versions while using the same amount of threads.
  • A bug fix: Respects now GeoIP and Debug settings
  • Freeware version limitations: Threads are locked to 12 and only 1024 proxies.

  • HTTP Level 3: Identifies itself as a proxy to site you visit but still hides your IP-address
  • HTTP Level 3 proxy reveals one or more of the following headers:
