New in EeeMC 10.10.24.01 (May 13, 2011)

  • MythTV based on Ubuntu 10.10, includes XBMC
  • EeeMC is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu with MythTV and XBMC. Go to,

  • it is a remastersys copy of a fully setup Linux system with all of the necessary
  • script changes and sudoers authorities completed.
  • With minimal setup requirements the user will have an excellent HTPC based on the
  • well sorted Ubuntu 10.10 base.
  • MythTV based on Ubuntu with XBMC added, and a 15 band Graphic Equaliser. It is a
  • fully setup Linux system with all of the necessary script changes and sudoers
  • authorities completed. So with minimal setup requirements the user will have an
  • excellent HTPC based on the Ubuntu 10.10 base. Ubuntu 10.10 is probably the most
  • sophisticated of the Ubuntu releases. These versions are the best so far, because of
  • the excellent Ubuntu 10.10 base.

New in EeeMC 10.10.24 (Nov 29, 2010)

  • MythTV based on Ubuntu with XBMC added, and a 15 band Graphic Equaliser. It is a fully setup Linux system with all of the necessary script changes and sudoers authorities completed. So with minimal setup requirements the user will have an excellent HTPC based on the Ubuntu 10.10 base. Ubuntu 10.10 is probably the most sophisticated of the Ubuntu releases. These versions are the best so far, because of the excellent Ubuntu 10.10 base.

  • Fixed not being able to access Shoutcast.
  • I have noticed that when exiting MythTV to return to the MythWelcome screen, using the remote, it is necessary to use the right arrow key after selecting Yes, Exit now. May be necessary to complete this procedure twice for it to work. Using the OK button causes it to loop back to the main menu.
  • MythWelcome screen randomly displays that it is locked. Solution, go out of the screen and return, now allows unlocking of the screen.

New in EeeMC 10.04.2 (May 24, 2010)

  • Added a script to stop XBMC being shutdown by MythTV. Even though I have incorporated XBMC have not really had the time to use this facility. It wasn't till I decided to listen to Shoutcast that I found that this problem occurred.
  • A second version of the EeeMC theme, called EeeMC Blue, is included . I have made changes to the theme such as having the time appear on more screens. Also adding the bar graph, reference disc space available, to the Watch Recordings screen. As you can delete recordings on this screen saves having to access the Delete Recordings screen. Also added file size, see screen print.
  • Incorporated changes so that the system can be closed down by the Menu selection on the MythWelcome screen.
  • This release includes a high quality dedicated EeeMC splash screen. Works with all NVIDIA drivers and should also work with ATI drivers as well.
  • Attached a selection of prints showing the EeeMC Blue screens.
  • Iincludes all the latest updates for Ubuntu 10.04, MythTV and XBMC as at 16 May 2010.
  • Latest NVIDIA drivers installed, 195.36.24.

  • Includes a 15 band Graphic Equaliser. I have been testing this set up with my Logitech Z-5500 Digital 5.1 Speaker System and the sound quality is incredible, far better than my Window’s setup using the same speakers.
  • With the Graphic Equaliser you will need to connect a keyboard to your HTPC to setup different sound configurations, and to set your base sound levels.
  • Switching between MythTV and XBMC is controlled by the DVD button on the remote.

  • This theme is attractive and functional. I will look at a selection of backgrounds in the near future for people who do not like black.

  • This theme is attractive and functional. I will look at a selection of backgrounds in the near future for people who do not like black. In MediaPortal I have a selection of skins that have had close to 20,000 downloads, still learning the intricacies of the MythTV themes.

New in EeeMC 1.01 (Feb 15, 2010)

  • Upgrade version EeMC 1.01 with a dedicated, newly developed, EeMC theme.
  • Also, the size of the .iso image has dropped from 2 GB to 1.1 GB. This reduction was the result of my finding an old .iso image left in a folder which I had forgotten about.
  • Switching between MythTV and XBMC has been vastly improved and is now controlled by the DVD button on the remote.
  • Eeebuntu 3 kernel upgraded to 2.6.28-18-generic, plus all of the latest recommended updates.
  • This application works particularly well, and with the new theme has a pleasing and sophisticated presentation.
