What's new in Edubuntu 10.04

  • With version 10.04, Edubuntu extends on the work that is done in the previous version. Edubuntu's installation is now purely graphical, and allows for LTSP installation directly from the Live disc.
  • The Ubuntu Netbook Edition interface is now shipped with the Edubuntu disc, and can be installed as an option after the system installation has completed.
  • The new Edubuntu Menu Editor allows an administrator to create custom menu profiles and apply it to users and groups as well as export them to share them with colleagues or friends.
  • The artwork has been refreshed to provide a light look and feel that is in line with the new Ubuntu branding.
  • Our software selection have been refreshed to include new packages, including vym- a mindmap editor, gbrainy- a brain training tool as well as kolourpaint which replaces gpaint.
  • Live LTSP
  • Sabayon, the Gnome user profile manager, has been updated to the latest upstream release which is more stable and functional than ever before.
  • Qimo Packages available in archive
  • LTSP 5.2 is now available which provides functionality for running complete diskess fat clients from an LTSP server.
  • Our installation disc now includes all Ubuntu language packs, allowing you to use Edubuntu in more than 130 languages.
